Barbara Warr, lifelong Bellevue resident, has owned A Cut Above the Rest salon, since 1994. It is an integral part of the fabric of the business district. She laughingly describes herself as, “…definitely Amish; very low tech,” thus no social media advertising. And her business has not suffered from her “low tech” approach.

A full service salon, A Cut Above The Rest offers styles and cuts for men, women, and children. An onsite barber specializes in flat tops, military style cuts, ethnic hairstyles, and straight razor shaves. Through her years in business, her most gratifying technique remains coloring. “It changes a person’s appearance -- a morale booster, no more grey, dull, mousy hair.  It makes the customer feel better.”

Barbara was finishing a haircut for a three year old boy when I arrived to interview her. There were no tears, no fussing, no kicking - a happy, satisfied customer. This customer’s review will not be found on Facebook or a website; it will remain within the confines of this lovely salon.
